Hello Everyone!
I was at training camp in Georgia from the 28th of August until the 8th of September when I flew out to Kenya, but I want to tell you a little about it.
Life Update
I was sleeping in a tent, eating portioned meals, going to scheduled teachings and events, and I was having THE TIME OF MY LIFE. I loved it. I couldn't help but to look back at my first training camp and see the difference in who I was then to who I am now. At my first training camp I was so hopeless, shut down, closed off and generally disinterested in other people because my left felt overwhelming and I was at compacity. This time I had joy, energy, hope, and compacity for other people and it was amazing.
I have an AMAZING squad who love Jesus soooooooo much and walk in so much surrender that I was inspired daily. I worked hard to speak to everyone at least a little and remember their names before we left and I accomplished both tasks I set before myself.
What's God doing in Georgia USA?
God had me looking into who I am within community. Over the past years I have been working on identity and relationship with Him but I haven't had a community of peers to operate in since my last race. God asked me to lead a team as we were prepping to leave for Kenya and I said yes. I learned that all experience I thought I had was moot; I still didn't know how to lead as myself but we will get to that later. My team is lovely. They are all a little bit introverted and have a passion for Jesus and caring for the literal children of the world. And I'll get into that more later too...in the next post. Be patient lol
God let me have so much fun with training camp and even let me climb my first mountain without a rainstorm of some kind. TBH, its still nothing to write home about ๐คทโโ๏ธ you just get tired and hot instead of tired and cold. There is a view but you could just drive to a view equally as nice and be not tired and hot/cold, so I am not convinced that is the life for me. I'll practice liking the journey. Which is a theme the Lord showed me. "Learning to love the process" and its kinda lovely if I think about it but practically it feels a little more like a challenge, so I am just going to commit to only light thinking about it for now.
Yes we did do squad wars. Yes there was a hula hoop challenge. Yes I did win again (for the third time ๐ ). Yes I was humble while I played (because my opponents were good really๐ฅshout out to second place girl! ). No I did not know Iwas going to be lifted suddenly into the air. Yes I was terrified respectfully ๐.
That's all the time I have today for questions. Thank you.
Fundraising Update
I am 79% funded! I still need help to make my goals for the trip, so if you have some extra in your generosity funds please pray and see if God wants you to partner with me for this year.
Spiritual Update
The Lord has stirred my heart toward reading lately, which, as most may know, I do not particularly enjoy, but it gave me hope for finally reading through the whole Bible in its entirety. Other than that I have been playing, talking, walking, hanging out with and partnering with the Lord as well as listening and responding to what He has to say to me. He has me playing Scrabble for some reason and as soon as he tells me why I'll let you all know. It is fun to be at the start of so many new things with the Lord and I am excited to do a big trip with Him again.
Prayers
Pray for health and healing over me and my Team as some viruses are going around
Pray for safe travels
Pray for God to move in big ways in the ministries we work with
Answered Prayers
That I get to go on this gift of a trip! ๐ฅฐ
Thank you
Thank you to everyone who is together with me on the trip through donations, prayers and following along. We get to be Gods hands and feet to love and reconcile His creation, me overseas and you right where He put you. I love you and I thank you.
